AI SEO Brief Generator | Gumloop Template

If you’ve ever spent hours dissecting rival pages to build a content outline, you’ll appreciate what this Gumloop workflow can do in about a minute.

Drop in your target keyword and it reverse-engineers the best ideas from top-ranking pages on Google – then hands you a ready-to-write brief that’s built to outrank them.

Here’s a link to the quick-fill form:

Here’s a link to the entire workflow, which you can copy and customize in your own Gumloop workspace.

What Happens Under the Hood

  1. Scan & Scrape – The workflow crawls Google’s top results for your keyword, pulling raw text, metadata, headings, and on-page elements.

  2. Keyword Match – It evaluates every page against your chosen term, flagging strengths, gaps, and patterns Google is rewarding.

  3. Research – It runs a Perplexity search to find relevant statistics and research related to your term

  4. Brief Generation – Using those findings, it produces 20-plus recommendations that cover structure, optimization, UX, conversion cues, and trust signals—all formatted for easy copy-paste into your doc or CMS.

A Breakdown of the Entire Flow

1. Type in your keyword

All you have to is open the “Keyword Content Brief” form, enter the term you want to rank for (e.g., “vibe marketer”), and hit Run.

2. SERP Scraping

A Call Serp API node fires a Google search and grabs the top five organic URLs. No copy-pasting competitor links; the node handles discovery.

3. Competitor Deconstruction

Each URL is piped through two custom nodes:

  • Extract Data (in Loop Mode) isolates raw URLs.

  • Page Outline from URL scrapes every page’s H-tag hierarchy so we can see how winning content is structured.

4. Intelligence Consolidation

A Join List Items node stitches those individual outlines into one big reference file.

5. Context Boost

The second custom node, Keyword to Research, uses the Perplexity Sonar Pro API to layer on supporting info – definitions, quotes, statistics – so the brief isn’t built in a vacuum.

6. AI Assembly

All signals funnel into an Ask AI node powered by Claude 3 Sonnet. A prompt – borrowed from AI SEO expert Jonathan Boschoff – tells Claude to output:

  • A punchy content overview (title, meta, audience, objective)

  • Optimized heading structure

  • Questions to answer (People Also Ask style)

  • Fresh statistics with sources

  • Secondary keywords & entities

  • Table/chart concepts, media angles, EEAT moves, and link opps

The result is a cohesive brief instead of a pile of raw data.

7. Hands-Free Delivery

Finally, a Google Docs Writer node saves the brief to Drive and slaps the keyword in the doc title. The Output node returns a share link so you can jump straight into drafting.
